Like you kaz285t I also have found that when following a route it can obscure the map detail.
My suggestion is to have the ability to make the route more transparent and also have an option on the ... |

Further to these posts I have found that if the satellite lock is lost for any period of time (eg indoors over lunch) then you get the mutliple trail.gpx and then trail1.gpx files created.

The lack of a further post from Mikealder makes me suspect that at the moment it is not possible to post a route to Tracklogs. I have sent Tracklogs a query to see if they have a suggestion.
