Ive read somewhere you can only use SD cards not SDHC is this correct?

Correct. 2GB is generally the biggest you can use.

Out now, but it's 20 for the basic software - worthwhile if you already have an existing collection of MM maps like me - otherwise there's there's better software out there

The new version of Anquet 6.2.7.0 now works on my PPC (XDA Orbit 2) without using GPSGate, BUT it still won't display an icon on a WM6 non-touchscreen smartphone (HP iPaq 514).
