Installed the drivers and PC recognizes when I connect via the USB and turn it on.

But I see no way to access the mapsource software. I don't see any icons for opening and the unit doesn't show up ...

What is the charging voltage supplied by the cradle?

My mains adaptor says 5v DC @ 1 amp.
