Could it be that there is a french road version and a Dutch? Because I've tried anything and still the name of the roads appear in Dutch!

I guess map names are decided by tomtom but if you want to change the map names do the following.
if you want to change the benelux map name go to file explorer and navigate to your storage card , ... |

Try This
On your pocket pc go to Programs ----> ActiveSync----->Options and make sure that "Use mobile schedule to sync with this PC" unchecked

| Install the maps to a folder in your pc and then copy them to your CF card if you have a card reader. |

Maybe in this one case you forgot to click "OK" on top right corner of the avoid area window to confirm it? did you see in the map view that it's really marked as "Avoid Area" ?

Panasonic SD Cards are highly recommended , i personally use the toshiba card and have no problems with it.
