Your problem is that O2 Pay&Go only do a WAP gprs connection, and you need a WEB gprs connection. You'll only get that on O2 if you have a contract.

Looking at the details of the new O2 rom, the radio stack hasn't changed, only the ROM. The imate version has an updated radio stack as well so I'd expect that to be the best bet. |

The flight mode workaround only applies to xda2i, not xda2s.
To fix the freezing with xda2s you need to put it into 'corporate' mode.
