My only experince has been with V6 and V7, where V7 was an upgrade CD. When I fire up Mapsource, I can choose if I want V6 or V7 from a drop down box at top left of screen.

I use the QPAC mount with it's QPAC01 power supply. I haven't had to install anything else.
The unit has a built in adaptor, which requires a 12v supply.

I've had my Quest 1 hooked up directly to my bike battery for a year with no problem. I think what you meant to say was Watts. The unit can take a maximum of 5 Watts @13.8 v DC. |

I phoned up for the V7 upgrade before I registered and Garmin told me to wait as V8 was coming out shortly....

It's a competitive market, you buy a Quest 7 month after V7 has come out and you get V6 with your package (annoying or what), then you register and they give you V7, only to fin ... |
