- are the versions of the database the same, look in the version.txt contained in the zip file.

Just a thought - is your windscreen the heat reflecting type, as these can cause problems.
If you lose sat lock a lot, it may be worth considering a GPS antenna (around a tenner from Maplin).

If you have recently updated to XP, are you sure that the USB is working correctly on the PC.

It worked ok for me, with that version and Ash10's util :D

You could try deleting all the existing gpx and bmp files from your upload folder, then running the zip file through Ash10's util again. ...
