I use my Garmin nuvi 250 as a back up GPS device at sea, firstly it gives me a fix anywhere which is nice, but you also need a paper chart as well.

Glad it's not just me then.
Surely the drop down option list, that lets you choose a forum to "Jump To", should just link to the relevant page URL, or am I missing something.

It's adding files to the recently found menu. Doh!

I looked at the tracking function, but the current OS doesn't support it, if you want it ...

Thanks for the prompt replies, yes this was with the supplied lead, however a reset sorted it out, and all is well.

Took delivery of a Garmin Nuvi 250 a few days ago, and really like the unit. I charged it from a PC USB lead and got a splash screen and a picture of the unit connected to a desktop PC tower ...

OK thanks for the advice, seems to have had very mixed reviews elsewhere.
The Roadangel specs though are pretty close to what I want, the build and execution seem to be of dubious quality though.

Not sure which features I am going to have to compromise on. Could forgo the terrain mapping for a start, as the maps are quite expensive.
