You can't do that so save yourself the bother! The GPS400 uses Destinator, that means POIs should be in .csv file format.

The pre-installed database isn't accessible to read in the same way as other custom POIs are?
someone advised me to upload the pre installed database and check the format in excel, and see if i can e ... |

Does anyone know how to upload the original POI database already on a packard bell GPS400 to a pc? I know i sound thick (probably am) but ive tried and cant find the file.

Thanks Anita for your help, ive tried again, done a complete reformat of the SD Card and started again but still cant get the downloaded POIs to work. I have now emailed as in your post. |

I think the only bits from the instructions in that link that are relevant to you are:
1. Download the POIs.
2. Unzip all files - you should have a .bmp and a .csv file for each category.
