I have a similar problem on a TomTom One Xl. Following your post I copied a previous version of mapsettings.cfg to the Western Europe map folder but it didn't make any diffrence.

Instead of enabling the speed cameras and displaying them, just activate the voice warning. ( To do this go to "Change Preferences""Manage POIs"

Have you used the samre memory card. I had a similar problem with TomTom 5 on an XDAII. The cause of this seemed to be a slow SD card. I changed to a 133x one and never had any more problems. ... |

Yes - it unpacks it OK then stops the install after about 2%
I am trying a hard reset of the xda to see if that makes any difference.

I removed the old version and definately picked the storage card option - it tells me I have 460.4Md free (after installing) the Canary Islands.
