The Road Angel Adventurer 7000 is only compatinel with Memory-Map V5 software and mapping.

to be honest I think its completley unfeasable thing to do, as not only would ISPs have to interogate almost every packet going through their servers but they would also have to be able to de-encrypt ... |

I just installed one of my older 2004 OS 1:25000 (Lands End) maps to try in my RA 7000 and it worked fine. So I'd say you'll be ok with the RA.

Aha, so with that license is it as simple as to export the file as a shp file from MM and then import it as a SHP file in Arc view? The track will view the same? Can it then be manipulated in arcview? ... |

as far as I am aware Memory-Map is not compatible with CE.NET platforms
Your best bet would be to download the free trial from their website and give it a try.

In this case I would say you are correct, however some PDA's can open file sizes of up to 2GB (unsure of which ones, just heard via the grapevine)
