Yes it does need the card. I removed it just to check and most of the map detail disappeared.

However, I'm still puzzled by how good this new unit is with firmware 3.1. I've used it for a few hours ...

The date is in the 'Shutdown' area of the Diagnostics menu. This is where it holds the crash logs when it goes wrong. My date shows 12 Jan 2026.

Put the i3 into Western European Timezone (which it should be if you're in the UK) and set the daylight saving to 'auto'.
