Thanks for all the responses. It did indeed switch to day colours in the morning.

Does this new version automatically know when it's dark and switch to night colours on its own? I've just received mine this evening and can't understand why it goes straight onto night colours as so ...

On a serious note Gilesme.... Is it easy to change the welcome screen?

You can use it as a photo viewer, and also change the welcome screen.

I've put a picture of Mrs Gilesme on there - if someone nicks it, they'll soon bring it back....

Thinking about it - there is a picture viewer on the unit, so maybe it could be used as a mobile photo frame.
