Actually, after about 4 sec, the unlock screen goes away and leaves the map up with the keylock still active until the screen times out again.

Google Chrome has a built in spell check with MS Word style underlining of words which strangely doesn't recognise 'Google'.
If you're using IE, type 'ieSpell' into a search engine.

| Does the 4 sec rate not refer to the screen update rate? I don't really see a great power saving in slowing down the rate data is obtained from the GPS rx, it should be possible to achieve 1 update/s ... |

Strictly speaking, the datum is OSGB36, OSGB is often used to refer to the co-ordinate system with the two prefix letters and BNG refers to the all numeric system.
