So far I've found two minor problems with the new upgrade on the OneXL. The first is when switching off the OneXL the 'antitheft' splash screen is now much dimmer than before and can hardly be seen.

I've updated my TomTom ONE XL with the new app.

They've replaced the customisable compass in the preferences with some custom car cursors - why!?!!!

But you have done a Windows backup of the satnav to your laptop, haven't you? And burnt that to CD in case your laptop fails again?

I was hoping that capping the maximum speed would just alter the ETA and journey time, not alter the route to take in the local scenery. It's a pretty useless feature then.

I've just read a post somewhere that says the maximum speed can be set (eg. 54mph) in the preferences so this would probably be adequate as I do alot of long distance motorway driving. ...
