Hi
I am used to TTHome with my Go 920 but now have a via 130 Europe.

I appreciate things are different now with MyTomtom etc but this thing only has one computer voice on it and that is Polish!!! Agata!!! What the hell?

I have researched TTs site but the only link to downloading an English computer voice just says no longer available Doh.

Can anybody point me in the right direction please?

Also - will I need to disable the one off download of TT cameras when I add PGPSW data? If so, how?

First question... any idea WHY you might only have a Polish computer voice on there? Did you buy it in Poland, or from a somewhat "dubious" source?

If it's new, you need to send it back where it came from, as it is not fit for purpose in the UK.

-----

You should have a computer voice for at least most of the major European countries, if you have full Europe maps.
At present, you only get ONE computer voice per country and there is no way AT ALL to add new computer voices to any of the new models (Go1000/2000, VIA, Start20/60)

-----

Speed cameras - you don't NEED to disable or delete the built-in camera warnings. You can have them both running side by side perfectly happily.

In fact, it's a good way to see how much better the PGPSW data is! (and you have the real voice warnings too)

When you get bored of the TT's bings and bongs, just switch the alerts off in the menu. (on my Go1005 its in Services/Speed cameras/Disable alerts).

Thanks Andy. TT came from Amazon. Just had another play and found Daniel and Emily as UK computer voices but they were greyed out. Went back into the option again and they have disappeared. At a loss. They are not available in Select a voice, just the ordinary Tim and Jane voices.

Send it back if it's new.

Surprised you even saw a glimpse of TWO UK voices though. I've only ever seen "Serena" on any of my NAV3 TomToms.

Narrowed this down.
Whenever Jane or Tim English voices are selected then the only option in voice control is for Agata. As soon as I select ANY other voice English speaking or otherwise then Agata is there together with Emily and Daniel blanked out and not selectable. Phone call tomorrow I think.

No typo. I am selecting voice control button and it tells me I have to select a computer voice. Have I been stupid? Shocked

That said, the only computer option under 'select voices' is Agata.

OK, we're back on course Smile

To be honest, I wasn't sure if the VIA models even HAD voice control, but even if they do, it's not really relevant if the voices aren't there to select in the normal place.

(Another irrelevant menu oddity... on all my 'Go' models, it's "Change voice" rather then "select voice")

I reckon...
Wish someone else with a VIA could chip in with an opinion though!

I wonder if it could have been Amazon sneaking in a "grey" import?

Update if of benefit to anybody -

Contacted this company by telephone. Guy said " oh we had some European models in, must be one of those ". Doh . Didn't bother with wtf did you send me one then - just went for full refund of unit, postage and returns etc. Backed it all up on paper too with Amazon. Refund awaits. Have replaced this now today with a via 135M Euro from Halfords. Downloading updates etc as I type but already checked and there are UK English computer voices on the new one. Halfords also cheaper than Amazon for this model.

Whilst downloading I have turned off the 1 time option for TT cameras so hopefully they will not appear at all and I can go straight to the PGPSW files once my snail of a computer has installed the new stuff.

Thank you to Andy - P for bothering to reply and trying to help. Wink
