TomTom Range fluctuation

For the last few months I have been able to view live traffic issues as far south as Birmingham from my base in North Yorkshire, and in fact on a journey to Bath recently once I was south of the M62 corridor I had details all the way the south coast. I've just noticed today that the range appears to have been reduced again. I can now see only as far south as Sheffield.
I'm using a 1005; has anyone else noticed the change recently?
