Navigon is selling 9450 live and are still advertising the function of Real City 3D.
They do this knowing that the Real City 3D is no longer available. Since the Q3 maps update arrived this function is not updated anymore. That means that they have have been lying in their advertisements of this product. No information to anyone not even to their customer support that tried to help me for a week and then suddenly they informed me about this. I mean the Q3 maps where released in September but the decision to remove this function must have been taken long before that. I urge everyone that bought this product the last six months should complain with Navigon and at least get some compensation.
So a warning to everyone thinking of buying a Navigon product. The functions they advertise today might not be working or may be gone tomorrow……..and this without any warning or information. |

Just to clarify - Is the function still there, but not updated since Q2 2012 or has the facility been removed completely? _________________ Tim

If you update to Q3 2012 this function will not work/be available anymore.
If you stay with Q2 2012 it will work. I bought this top of the line model becouse it had everything. Now suddenly functions are not working any more. What is next ? Removing of Live services and still advertise that this function is available. I would not complain if they first notify their customers about the change and then remove their false advertising. |

Having been a software developer (getting on for 50 years) this may be an 'accident' and be fixed (eventually) and I would first raise a question on Facebook saying you have a problem and asking them for help to sort it out.
(I know you have been told this won't be fixed but it would be as well to get confirmation in writing/email.)
Having had confirmation that this is a new 'feature' you have a number of choices open to you:
If your PNA is less than 2 years old then under EU law it must be guaranteed to work for 2 years - the guarantee is enforceable against the retailer. (I had to use this argument against Navigon and Halfords when my 4310 was 13 month's old - I got a new 4350.) Since your 9450 no longer works as it did when you bought it and if Navigon/retailer cannot restore it to full functionality then you can repudiate the purchase and get your money back.
If your 9450 is over 2 years old and you bought the map updates separately then you still have a case concerning the map updates and you could get your money back as the maps are less than 2 years old.
Assuming in spite of the above you want to keep your PNA then I should haggle to get a free upgrade in compensation - say Michelin Red Book.
Do not underestimate the embarrassment caused to Navigon by posting your problem on Facebook on a daily basis! I have had to use this approach twice - the last time to get a (final) map upgrade when they moved the goalposts. Try not to lose your temper and slag them off - keep it light and jokey!
Good luck - and keep us posted on your progress.

According to information I received from their customer support this function will not be updated again. With other words this function is withdrawn and will not work with any updated maps.
The strange thing is that it took one week for their customer support to find out that this feature will no longer be available. At first they instructed me to update the maps again and a bunch of other things. I got the feeling that their support had not been informed about this. |
