Having previously loaded poi.gpi file to the unit I am finding it impossible to update/replace the one on the unit. Which I have prior to the current Firmware & Map update.

Following the FAQ's available re folder names & file name to the letter (poi.gpi) the head unit recognises a new file, but gives the error 'unable to open file' when it tries to copy from USB memory stick to DNX.

DNX is on current (updated) firmware & new 2012 garmin map (recently loaded). I am using Garmin POIloader v1.7 & PocketGPSworld database as I have previously.

Any advice much appreciated

Mike

I have exactly the same problem, only on a Kenwood DNX4280BT. I loaded successfully the first two occasions but now I am getting the same error messages. Did you manage to resolve the problem?

Sadly gave up on it as sold the unit with the car as I found it slow and annoying.

Whilst deleting stuff off it b4 sale I did find a setting in the garmin mapping sw that deleted all POI's which I hadn't noticed. Something like restore all/factory defaults which kept new map/firmware but removed the custom POI's.

I didn't ever try putting them back on, but that may sort it if it deletes the old ones first.
