Found this which describes how to get routes plotted on Mapsource onto a Garmin unit.

For Garmin units there's no need to go through all of the instructions in that post, as Mapsource will send a route directly to your 1695 Wink

Note though that Mapsource won't work fully with the newer Garmin auto GPS and handhelds. For them you need to use Basecamp, also available from Garmin.

Mapsource is no longer being developed or supported.

No it does not send a route directly that can be read by the 1695.
It does send the route as a GPX file but it's not possible to pick the route up with the 1695.
I have had communcation with Garmin about this as my old GPS60 does do this OK and I was disappointed that the newer 1695 will not do it-confirmed by Garmin. They said that only the more expensive units will do it.
If you have found a way to do it I would be keen to know how.

Yes apologies, the 1695 is one of the 'odd' ones that won't work ... I think it's now the only one. Originally the 3790 wouldn't work either but Garmin updated the software on that one, seems the 1695 has never been that lucky Crying or Very sad
