Hi, is it possible to mute my Tomtom Start25 turn by turn direction instructions, but keep the pgsworld camera alerts so that I can hear them? Sometimes, I know the route, but don't know where the cameras are!

Yes.

The easy way is if your model has separate menu items in "Change preferences" for "Turn off voice guidance" and "Turn off sound". Both of those are available on the 'Go' models I have in front of me, but I think the Start may have a simpler menu structure that only has the "all or nothing" second one.

The other way, which will work on all models is to install a "silent voice", and switch to that when you don't want to hear the route instructions.

You can download one from here:

I shall just test that out in a minute. I was just wondering will the camera alert app for my android phone do that job for me just as well? and if so, does it need a constant data connection becuse soem of these villages in w sussex are out of phone?

That's good to hear. Smile

but also interesting... I just checked on my XL LIVE IQ and that DOESN'T have the two separate menu items.
I'd have thought if the START had them then the XL should too Crying or Very sad
