Garmin 2598 restarting when travelling

Hi

I bought this a few days ago and used it properly over the weekend. On Saturday it worked fine but yesterday it restarted itself about 4 times on the journey back (about 80 miles).

What was odd was that it carried on where it had left off in terms or routing and instructions.

I checked all the connections and they were fine. I was running traffic through the power cable and Smartlink as well.

It has the latest firmware and maps loaded (done on Friday).

Any suggestions would be welcome to say the least.

Most Garmin Bluetooth rebooting issues are related to the phone you are using it with.

Has your phone got the latest firmware?
Have you tried rebooting the phone just before linking to the Garmin?
Switch the Bluetooth off completely.


I have the 2548 and don't have any rebooting issues as it does not have Bluetooth thankfully.
