GPS for walking in UK (mainly New Forest)

My old GPS12 has served me well over the years but is getting a bit tired and takes a long time to find any satellites.
It's probably time to pension it off and get a new one - but I've lost touch with what's available. I want something which does everything the GPS 12 does and preferably which can also display OS 1:25000 maps - either by using built-in maps, or with a facility to input my own (by scanning paper maps?)

Any recommendations?

Is there a particular forum which is best suited to this sort of application. (Obviously, in this context, I'm not interested in on-road navigation and speed cameras, etc.)

Satmap Active 10+ v1.50 with full UK 1:50k map and 1:25k/1:10k County maps of Hampshire & Warwickshire

Have a look at the SatMap active10, its not cheap when you factor in the cost of the 25K maps and you can't use your own maps but its a great device thats purpose designed for outdoor use even when wearing gloves - Mike
