ok.I have a TomTom XL IQ routes and just want to know how do i get POI's onto my device?

Start by downloading from here
Then unzip the file and copy the contents to your units map folder. This folder will normally be named after the map you have loaded. That's pretty much it. Once there you should find them listed under POIs on your device.
Any problems just ask. |

ok thanks for that ill have alook later..
Basically im driving to Dinsneyland paris next week and wanted some idea of places to stop en route for food..petrol and general sightseeing.

Ah, two different questions!
Getting them on there, as Paul says, download the POI file, unzip it, copy the individual files created (NOT in their folder) and put them in the named map folder on the TomTom.
But if you want advice on FINDING POIs for Paris, that's a different ball game...
There are some on this site but you might be better off looking on a French website for anything specific as POIs tend to be submitted by users or members of the sites.

Have a look at gpspassion.com as they have a good selection of French POI files Here when you download the files you just need the ov2 and bmp files discard the asc file as the TomTom doesn't need that - Mike |
