Hi All, this is my first adventure with any nav software. Got both the Tosh e800 and the TomTom today from ebuyer, had a little trouble installing TomTom, but got a very fast response via email support to help, once I got both paired I just can't get over how good the software is. Put in my postcode and it was spot on, all the way home, voice commands were clear and the mapping is excellent. I really didn't think it was going to be this good, for this about of money. Also it worked really well even though it was tucked away in the dash!

I think I understand you guys have put together a speedcamera POI database, which I will have a look at later, however can I get it (TT3) to warn me when I enter a different speed zone (ie when I enter a 30mph from a 50mph)?

Thanks

Richard

The Toshiba 800 has a superior feature compared to all other current Pocket PCs: its high-res and 4'' screen.

Could you please confirm that Tom Tom 3 software support the VGA resolution of 640x480?

Cheers,

Hi thanatos,

I’m afraid that there’s no way of being alerted on entry to a different speed zone. That would be a very large database for the whole of the country and one that would need updating on an almost daily basis. Jas has the right idea of keeping an eye out for speed signs, which is not always easy especially in rural areas where hedges are overgrown and hide the signs. Evil or Very Mad

The PocketGPS speed camera database is free to download, you will need a POI detector to run with it, e.g. either CheckPOInt 2.0.2 or GPSAssist 2. CheckPOInt is free, GPSAssist is €27.00 (about £18.00 plus charges). GPSAssist is being developed and the beta version has a lot more functionality, which I’m sure, will soon be available to download. Thumbs Up

Regards,

It runs fine but its 'pixel doubled' in that it runs like a 320x240 device, below is an example...

It runs very well, it will be interesting to see an update for VGA support, but to be honest it doesn't need it, as everything could become too small to see while driving...

Regards
