phone pda: HTC Touch 3g
TTN7.916
map GB v855
on sd card - in TT folder contains 2 files; GB map.mac, navigator.cfg
i have 50 single pois .ov2 & .bmp ( from when i owned the first version of TT one with sd slotsetc) and when i put them in the map folder - TT does not see it??!! Am i doing something wrong?? i followed installation guide?!
i want to put pois & speed cam pois but its not happening.
Is there a max limit of pois?
i also got my mapsettings.cfg from my TT one and following instructions used poiedit to convert individual pois, then found .bmp 24x24, but copying them into the map folder, can't see them, can only see the built-in poi (poi.data). The installation guide states "to sync" pc with pda - instead i just copy the .ov2&.bmp to map folder - which is how i use to do it with my TTone - is this why its not working?!
I'm hopeing to put; my converted from favourites to poi, speed poi, and remove built-in poi (if space is a prob), but its been awhile since i customised my original TT one v1, and i'm not familiar with pda TTN7(given last week).
can anyone advise please. |

You need to find the UK&ROI map folder and put the POI files in to this, I am not too sure the MapSettings.cfg file from a PND will work on the PDA version.
From memory TTN7 had a custom POI limit of 100 categories, each category can contain thousands of individual locations but if you have more than 100 categories the TomTom software will decide which ones to make available to you.
Reducing the number of POI categories built in to the application isn't viable as you lose them all, they are all contained in a single file (POI.dat) - Mike |

ok thx mike, so i'm stuck with the built-in pois, can't use my favourites converted to poi, and i'm limited to 100 pois in the map folder. will try download the pois in this site and try that, but when i select "a couple" and download them it downloads as one single poi file. |

When you download POI files they are supplied zipped up, you need to unzip the download to produce the POI files, for each category you will have a file ending with .bmp (the icon) and another file .ov2 which contains the location data - Mike |
