|
|
When you plan a journey on the TomTom XL Live (IQ Routes ed.) it tells you of any speed cameras on your route.
I have disabled these alerts as the PGPSW ones are far more superior, I was just wondering if there was a way to make the unit use the PGPSW files instead of TomTom's own files.
I thought about just deleting the TomTom files and then renaming the PGPSW files, but I reckon its not as simple as that.
Anyone know any way of doing this?
Thanks - Russ |

You need to set the "Warn When near POI" option for each of the third party POI categories you have installed - Mike |

Thanks Mike, I should have said that I have done this already and have warnings for each category.
It was more trying to get the unit to use these POIs when it summarises your route and tells you of how many speedcams are on your journey.
It's a small thing really, just wondered if there was a way round it. |

It won't tell you haow many cameras there are en route, it will warn you of each one along with speed and type of camera assuming you are using the speed zoned database - Mike |

I see what you're aiming for... There's a summary screen once the route has been calculated and before you start navigating, where there's a "LIVE" tab showing (amongst other things) the number of speed cams.
Unfortunately, that can only use the built it stuff, not any third-party data.
You could leave the TomTom data on the machine and just turn off the alerts, then I think it would still show on that screen and give you a ROUGH idea of how many cameras you'll go past. |

Yep, thats the summary screen I am on about.
Never mind; as I said, it's only a little thing, so no problem that its not possible.
Thanks for your replies. |
