|
|
Hi there my Tomtom One XL is truly broken and so am looking for a new satnav. I was going to buy the Garmin 1310 - but then saw the 215T may be suitable too.
What i want is:
Find alternative (avoid part of route)
Bluetooth
Only UK maps
Can anyone give recommendations on alternatives, or know if the 215T has the avoid part of route option? Ideally i would get a 1310t but no where seems to sell themk and i need one sharpish.
Thanks |

Here's my reply to your other topic in the Garmin section on the same question. I'll move it here so we can keep everything in the same topic.
----------------------------------------------
I don't know the 1310 but I downloaded the manual (from http://static.garmincdn.com/pumac/3130_OwnersManual.pdf) and I can't see any mention of being able to avoid part of the route in there.
There only seems to be "travel via", take detour" (like TomTom's "calculate alternative"), "change destination" or "stop routing".
None of those allows avoiding an area or road.
The manual for the 215T is here:
http://static.garmincdn.com/pumac/2675_OwnersManual.pdf and only seems to list the same options.
Any particular reason you don't want to stick with TomTom? |

Well Im not happy that a £200 product is broken after 2 years (had issues quite often really) and looking at peoples views on support it appears no existent (although they ahve been EXTREMELY fast i nthe last 2 days with my problem).
I was also very keen on bluetooth (and the Go series are too expensive) but i have actually got ahads free kit i never bother using so may use that which rejigs things |

£165 for a Go-550 Live which offers the Bluetooth support, latest map and a years worth of Live services thrown in, once the Live part expires you can either subscribe or simply use the device without the Live part funtioning see Here - Mike |
