I know that this is a difficult question but.....
What is the best reasonably priced PND (I cannot aford an HTC phone!).
I have always been a fan of TomTom but recent comments regarding not supporting custom POI warning sounds and out of date maps is TomTom still a contender.
I have used iGo on a PDA, is there a PND using iGo? |

(Moved out of the "News" section...)
Most of TT's current models still support third-party POIs, (and the new Go1000 range have them "promised" to return in the future).
Maps is always a thorny subject, and I think Navteq, PROBABLY have the edge on getting changes made quickly, but I still hear about errors on those too, and 99.9% of the time I don't have any problems with TomTom's Teleatlas ones in normal use.
I'm not "puffing" TomToms, it's just they are all I have any real experience with. |

It may be worth waiting for iGO PRIMO - GREEN to appear in the UK. Check the features. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

Orange have an Android PAYG handset for £99 which is, by all accounts, quite a capable smartphone. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Thank you all for your thoughts.
I am relieved to hear that despite the publicity TomTom still supports 3rd party POIs.
I am going to look at the iGo option as well.
The idea of a PAYG smartphone attracts me, not for a PND, but as a phone with all the various apps.
So between you you have answered my question, and excited another interest.
Thanks again. |
