Text to Speech on TomTom Go 750 Live

Hi,
I've followed the instructions on Pocket GPS to download and install the cameras (I opted for the speed zoned ones). I'm having trouble at the stage where it is you can "choose your preference for alert. You can choose from one of the pre-installed beeps and boings by selecting 'Sound effect' or alternatively use the Text To Speech capability of the device by selecting 'Type in your own warning'."

The device is only giving me the option to choose a sound, rather than Text to Speech. How do I get to this please?

I've followed it, but Text to speech isn't an option that is listed. For the time being I've had to download one of the voices warnings from this site, but I prefer to type in my own warning message, which I haven't the option to do.

Sorry, I've just re-read your post and see you were wanting to type in your own alert, not use the ogg files available here.

I'm afraid I can't help with that, as my 720 automatically offers the choice of Full spoken warning, Brief spoken warning, Sound effect or Type in your own warning.

Hopefully someone with an x50 will be able to help you.

Edit: Beat me to it! I must learn to type faster.

Which voice have you got selected for the navigation instructions, this needs to be a "computer voice" for the TTS to work, go to Change Preferences/ Voice Preferences/ Switch Voice if it doesn't say "Computer Voice" top right scroll through the choices until you find Kate or Simon which are the UK TTS voices - Mike
