I have noticed that today, as soon as the traffic update has finished being received, the 950 reboots.

Is there any way to disable HD traffic while TT get their act together?

You could try entering an incorrect password in the settings so it can't log in and therefore download anything.

Not sure if it'll work but i used it a couple of times to test something with HD Traffic switched off...

Try a power button reset as well - a cold boot helps sometimes.

I had this yesterday on the 940 and I assume that the problem is corrupted traffic data. It cleared itself once the faulty data stopped.

.... hence why I recommended a cold boot as it clears that data.

If not - clearflash would be my next step before reverting to anything more drastic.

I tried clearflash but it made no difference. So, I tried booting off a backup copy on an external micro-SD card. This seems to work much better so I restored the backup to the main unit. Again, this seemed to be better until I used HOME2 to update it again with the latest map corrections, cameras and POIs. After the update it stared to go downhill again, so logic implies that there is something in the latest set of updates that's triggering it.

For now I will boot off the SD card as that seems to be ok.

Hmm... Maybe I was right the first time. Just had a message from the wife to say that her 540 LIVE crashed 4 times on the way to work this morning even though it has not been connected to HOME for weeks.

Back to suspecting bad HD Traffic updates as being the most likely trigger.

Hmm.. I think, by a long process of restoring a working backup, applying updates using HOME, crashing, rinse and repeat, that I may have tracked down the problem.

As long as I don't apply the Map Share POI corrections, the unit is stable.

However, if I include the POI corrections, it all goes to Hell in a Handbasket and I end up with constant reboots. The MAP corrections seem to be OK.

So, for now I am leaving off that one update element and I'll see how it goes.

I should NOT have to be doing this TomTom!!!
