POIs/Speed Camera DB - do they have to be linked?

Hi there,
Have posted this in the Garmin forum but seeing as the expert opinion here seems to be that Garmin isnt much better than Charmin at telling you where to go I havent recieved a reply there.

What Im wondering is...is it possible to have 2 seperate 'custom poi' sets on a Garmin Nuvi 265w or if not is there anyway of allowing the speed camera DB to stay 'active' whilst the other POIs are installed but not actively showing on the map.

Im having a problem with slowdown - I do have a huge number of POIs on the system but dont need to see them on the map - I can disable the 'custom pois' from within the menu which stops them displaying on the map but obviously it then removes the speed camera warnings as well.

Any ideas?
