I am new to the TomTom GoLive 750 and have been "messing" with TomTom Home. I am having dificulty getting my PGPSW Speed Camera Database to work, the TomTom Speed Camera warning do work but are next to useless.
Silly me deleted the TomTom Speed Camera Update for the UK camera database from TomTom Home. This leaves every other database there except UK.
How do I restore it to TomTom Home. The UK database is still on my actual TomTom device, but i assume i cannot now update the UK database. _________________ Cracking Toast Gromit!

"Silly me" is hardly an appropriate description of someone who has deleted the TomTom cameras - most sensible people on this website do that deliberately.
I haven't got a 750, but I'd imagine all you have to do to get them back is click on Update my Device in Home. That's if you really want a useless database and feel a desperate urge to use TT Home with confidence!! _________________ Dennis

What problem are you having with our database? Forget TomTom's, let us get ours working for you! _________________ Darren Griffin |

Thank you for your offer of help.
I have deleted the TomTom Speed Camera Update from Home only. The camera database for other countries are still there, its the UK one I have deleted. The actual files still exist on my TomTom device. My concern is because of the deletion, the TomTom camera database will not update.
Normally this would not be a problem as, you quite rightly say they are "cr@p" and I agree with you. However, until I can get the PGPSW camera alerts working, its all I have to rely on so I would like them to be up-to-date.
To recap:
With a planned destination. PGPSW alerts (POI) enabled - they show in the POI database all with a little speakers next to each camera entry, "Warn when cam is on route" is UNCHECKED.
When driving I get a warning ONLY from the built in TomTom cam alerts and NOT PGPSW alerts.
I must have installed them wrongly but how I don't know, as I am used to installing them on my original Go Classic.
I unzipped the Speed Zoned Complete files directly into my Europe_2GB folder on my device. They do appear in my POI list and I have enabled sounds and set the distance to alert.
I am a little stuck here. _________________ Cracking Toast Gromit!

Do you have more than one copy of the map (e.g. in the device's memory and on a card) and you're using a different one for navigation from the one you copied the cameras to? _________________ Anita

Stop worrying, when a new update is available HOME will prompt you to download them, it matters not if you have deleted any of them in HOME before that.

Hmm, ok, plan a short A to B route that passes a known camera location. Then demo it (so you can do this from your sofa).
Firstly, ignoring the alert issue for now, do you see our cameras displayed on-screen? _________________ Darren Griffin |

I have planned a short route as you recommended. I does take me passed a know PGPSW 30mph speed camera. However, how do I DEMO the route to myself? I cannot find the demo option. _________________ Cracking Toast Gromit!

Plan your route using the 'Advanced Planning' option then when calculated select 'Options' and choose 'Route Demo'. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Done that. But only displays the TomTom 30mph speed camera, not the PGPSW one. _________________ Cracking Toast Gromit!

Ok, so now we need to establish what you have done wrong.
You need to connect your device to your computer and using Explorer, browse your devices map folder.
The name of that folder will be the name of the map you use, as you have a 750 it will be something along the lines of 'Western_Europe' or perhaps just 'Europe'.
Look in that folder and report back if you see files beginning pocketgps_uk_xxxx in that folder? _________________ Darren Griffin |

OK.
I have a folder on my 750 called Europe_2GB and within it are all my PGPSW "pocketgps_uk_xxxx" files. _________________ Cracking Toast Gromit!

Ok, that sounds correct so something odd is going on here.
Do you have other POI files installed? I'm talking about POI files you have downloaded and installed as opposed to the ones supplied with your device?
One other thing, do you have a memory card installed in your 750? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Yes I do have other POI's installed. Park and Ride and a BT (British Telecom) POI listing all UK telephone exchanges (I am A BT employee!).
They are the same POI's that I have been using for years on my GoClassic.
Yes I also have a BLANK 4GB memory card installed (that was going to be one of my next questions) but it makes no difference whether it is inserted or not to the PGPSW cam alerts working. I have tried both with and without it installed. _________________ Cracking Toast Gromit!

I ask as there is a limit to the number of POIs you can install. Exceed that limit and random issues such as disappearing POIs result.
How many files do you have installed? The individual .ov2 files? It might be easier if you were to temporarily remove these to eliminate them as a possible cause. _________________ Darren Griffin |

As you have a new 750, are you using TomTom's fuel alerts and the Fuel Prices Live service?
Have a read of Andy_P's post entitled "WARNING - TomTom's fuel POIs can disrupt the Camera warnings".
Just a thought.
