I have an HP iPaq 2215 with bluetooth.
I want bluetooth hardware and software to use for both my boat and car.
Does such a thing exist?
Searching through reviews, I've only found one or the other, not both.

You will need different software for the boat and the car, but that's not a problem so long as you have sufficient memory space for both.

The same GPS hardware can be used for both the boat and the car.

any recommendations for marine software?
Everything I have seen for marine is fixed or handheld, not for PDA.

Clark,

You dont have your location set in your profile. So it is difficult to provide a correct answer for you, but:

If you are sailing in the UK you can get Maptech Marine Charts and Memory-Map. This will allow you to do navigation on either your PC or PDA in the same way as our Topographical reviews.

If you are in the US then you have more options open to you, such as Maptech Pocket Navigator (again) and also Outdoor Navigator where you can download maps from the Internet. Maptech have some really cool apps such as Pocket Contor, which gives you a 3D view of your position and the depth of the water (first 3D PDA GPS application) this is good fun but not of much practical use for navigation.

There are many other PDA products such as Transas Nautic Pocket Sailor which use vector charts but I have found these applications need to mature a bit before they become really useful, though they do have global chart coverage.
