TomTom 930 map update and favourites

I finally succumbed to TT's offer and bought the new map and updates package today. All went well. Took a bit of a while to download and upload but it all appeared to work. I did have to reset my home address but my POIs and other settings were all OK. However My Favourites had disappeared.

Investigating TT's website it became obvious that I should have converted My Favourites to POIs before doing the download and I could not find any previous advice to this effect from within TT Home.

My question is to ask whether it is possible to recover My Favourites from My Backup? Where are they stored and is it simply a drag and drop action?

Also, should I now dump all my old backups and start afresh with the new map once I ascertained all is working?

BTW: I would comment that using my new in-built sat nav together with the TT for cameras and POIs works well.

Mike as you have a backup of the device have a read of This Thread which details how to convert the MapSettings.cfg file (where your Favourites are stored) in to a custom POI file - Mike
