Hello Guys and Girls, Ladys and Gents,

Just a quick question, i have downloaded all the POI from this website and placed then in the UK maps folder on my TomTom XL. But now the XL is so slow sometimes it just stops working. Now i am very new to all this and i am sure there is a good reason why this is happening i just do not know what it is. If anyone knows a way where i can have all the POI on the tomtom without it crashing or being really slow please let me know.

thanks in adv

Craig

Sadly, the TomToms WILL slow down if you have a LOT of POIs set to show on the map and driving view.

The answer is to not have them all showing all the time.

In other words, you can have them all on the device, and you could even have them all set to "warn when near" if you really wanted (although that's really only of use for things like cameras and low bridges), but DON'T have them all set to "show on map" all the time. Just enable the ones you need when you need them.

E.g. Amongst many others, I have a "Supermarkets" POI sitting on my TomToms, but I only have it set to show on the map if I decide to "Navigate to..." one of them. The TomTom will then automatically "tick the box" so they all show on the map, so next time I notice, I untick it again. The only ones I have permanently enabled are the Speed camera ones.
