Problem with 530 turning off and not connecting to computer

I have a TomTom 530 which is causing me some problems

When placed on docking station it asks whether I wish to connect to computer. If I click "yes" the screen goes blank, the unit reboots with the TomTom splash screen, goes to the screen with the picture of a 530 but then freezes before the blue and yellow lines at the bottom appear. If I remove it from the docking station, the reboot continues normally

Even when not connected to the computer but connected to the car charger, it has a habit of asking if I want to connect to the computer !!

It also wants to turn itself off after about 2 minutes. There doesn't appear to be a battery problem and I have pressed the reset button several times

Any advice would be appreciated

Hi bobclarke2, I am not familiar with the 530 but hopefully it can accept an SD card like the 730? Do you have a previous back up of your TT which worked OK? If "Yes" to both, put the old back up onto a spare SD card using a card reader connected to your PC, insert the SD card into the TT and boot the TT. The 530 should boot using the SD card.

Hopefully, this should allow the PC to read the TT and we can start finding the problem and a solution.
