Speed Camera Voice Alerts USA

Hi,

I have TomTom 7 on my phone with maps of Western Europe and USA. I have downloaded the speed cameras for both and the ogg files for UK but I can't find any for America.

Any help please.

I just tried downloading the US camera datafiles and I see there are also files for 25,35,45,55,65 mph

There aren't any voices ready-made with those numbers included yet....

So your options are:

1. For the other speeds that you HAVE got in the UK set, make copies of the sound files from the UK download and rename each file to match the names of the US camera files.

For example:
The UK Gatso 30 file is called pocketgps_uk_gatso_30.ov2 and it's associated .ogg file is called pocketgps_uk_gatso_30.ogg

So to match a US file called pocketgps_usa_gatso_30.ov2 you would need to make a copy of the pocketgps_uk_gatso_30.ogg and rename it pocketgps_usa_gatso_30.ogg

2. For the speeds you don't have files for, use the "generic" alert (many of the UK voice sets use a generic alert for the Gatso 20 or Gatso Variable as those weren't recorded by the original voice artistes), again making copies of the voice file you want to use and renaming it to match each datafile.

Alternatively, some of the voice sets (e.g. "Crystal") used demos of various Text to Speech engines available on the web, so you could make your own voice files saying whatever you want!
