Traffic Bar missing

On a 200 mile trip recently my traffic bar disappeared. This was about 100 miles or so into the journey. I have not been able to get it back other than a brief glimpse a couple of times when I plug it in.
Its a TT 730, V8.351. W&C_Europe map v8.10.1940 with 4V00.013 antenna just over 12 months old.
Doing a search I have tried tmccodes.dat and traffic.dat both are shown with kbs. Deleted this GNS data file and hard and soft re-sets.
Anybody any idea what I can try next? It just seems funny I lost it en route for no reason.

Do you know anyone else with a TomTom nav unit you can plug your receiver in to and see if it works on another device? At least this way you will know whether the fault is with the receiver or the PND - Mike

Thanks for quick reply Mike. I tried a relations 720 and it didn't reconise it. Wasn't sure if it needed to be plugged into the cig lighter. We only tried it without the 12v and got nothing at all. He dosnt have traffic so I cannot try it with a different antenna.
