The "advert" bit in the top-right assumes you want to pay for the upgrade package. You have to go through the menus to check for the latest map guarantee.
AFAIK, some refurb units don't have the LMG but retail ones should. _________________ Gerry

Open TomTom Home with the unit plugged in to the PC. Drop the Tools menu. Select Use Latest Map Guarantee. What does it say? |

Have you actually select the LMG as it won't offer it automatically, you need to select Tools/ LMG if its not in the tools sub options it is one of the other dropdown boxes at the top of the screen in Home - Mike |

No reason to wait...
The v835 maps have only just been released, so there's no chance a newer version will appear in the next 30 days before your LMG runs out. |

If it offer you anything earlier than the 8.35 maps do NOT download them, sometime it can take a while for the latest maps to appear on the LMG but these ones are about two weeks old and should be there. Once you download a map the LMG will not work again. _________________ Drivelux |

Ok here goes....
A small story of my TOMTOM's in ref to this topic i started.
I've had my TomTom ONE XL for about 18 months and very happy with it...Did sign up and pay for quartly map updates ( cant remember cost ).
However i did manage to mess that up when i bought my wife a TomTom and plugged into PC....Ahhhh fool i was....Apparently it overwrites my XL settings in relation to the map updates....
Several calls and faxing of receipts to TomTom later they manage to undo the mess i created !!..
Wont make the mistake with my new TomTom XL IQ routes edition europe...created an differnt account and logged in with that ( clever huh )
So TomTom home prompted me do download the latest map free..LMG ?
However i dont believe i had the option of getting to know the version of the map i was about to download..
So thats what its doing now...
Notice that there is no option for a memory card on this device and that the charging and RDS-TMC socket are the same....is this a backwards step ? |
