Just a quick question or two. The new Tom Tom Live devices - (1) does one no longer need that aerial thingy me bob (technical term) attached to the screen with this device (2) Am I right in thinking that there is a card slot for adding extra maps? (3) are the maps special ones or would I be able to use my current Maps of Western Europe from my GO 300 - approx 12 months old?

Thanks in advance for any info Very Happy

You don't need the RDS-TMC recever aeial when using a Live device.

The maps all contain IQ routes data and Lane Assist/ Reality view data so a map from a Go-300 wouldn't be any use on one of these.

As for further expansion the x40 Live range has a Micro SD card slot which can accept cards up to and including 32GB in capacity.

The XL_IQ_Live doesn't have a storage card slot in it so you cannot add to the storage capacity on these Live equipped units - Mike

And also to add to Mikes good reply, maps are locked to each device, and so are not transferable between devices. You would have to buy a new map from Tomtom directly!
