Garmin Quest

Help please...I've just travelled around 50 miles with my Quest - put it away in the glove box. Returned back to the car around 6 hours later and it won't switch on? My Garmin is around 4 years old and has always behaved well! Around two weeks ago I downloaded a system update but it has worked fine with this installed so I can't imagine this to be the problem! Is there a life span of the battery? My Quest has been on charge for the past 3 hours and still nothing? I feel like there's been a death in the family, someone please help!!!
