You probably need to go to Change Preferences/ Safety Preferences and make sure the checkbox for "Warn not to leave the device in the car" is selected - Mike

That was part of the prob, when I ticked the box it displayed the default one (green pic with unit being put into a briefcase) not the downloaded one, so I have uninstalled the default pic and put a tick in the box as you say, Embarassed Job done.
Many thanks

Don't suppose you know what " Ask me when there are HOV lanes on my route" means in the route planning pref's Question .

Thanks for your help.

High Occupancy Vehicle lane, a road/ lane of road restricted for use by drivers carrying passengers, there are some of these around Leeds that I know of, but not too sure how many other parts of the country are using them yet.
A while back the authorities installed cameras to monitor / enforce this (more fines for the motorists), some drivers overcame this by putting clothed dummies in the passenger seat, not much use though as these cameras also have thermal imaging so they got fined as well for driving in the HOV lane sat next to a dummy! - Mike

Avon (Bristol) Ring Road has one anti clockwise direction and for two stretches between junctions approaching M32. Entitled "2+ Lane". Operative only during morning commuter run. Local press has suggested they may be done away with, because all it's doing is adding to congestion. As it doesn't earn, so doesn't even pay for itself, I do believe they are trying their utmost to introduce congestion charging, which I presume will be as successful as the London one (i.e for a very short time at first, then later absolutely ineffective!).

It depends what you have replaced!

There is a file called "antitheft.bmp" (or "antitheftw.bmp" for widescreen models) which is the shutdown picture used if you have the option ticked that Mike mentions. However that file will get replaced with the default one every time you do a software update.

You SHOULD be able to put another image file on the machine called "suspend.bmp" (or "suspendw.bmp" for widescreen models) which will be used as the shut down image if you DON'T tick the "Warn not to leave the device in the car" option.

For it to work, the image has to be the correct size and format. Probably the easiest way is to look at the startup image "splash(w).bmp" or "antitheft(w) .bmp" in your particular PC paint program and match the settings to your new one.

EDIT: I think we may all have been assuming you meant the TomTom 730.... but from your avitar picture, is it a Garmin 730???
