I am trying to get Menu Builder v1.11 to work with TT7 but so far no luck.

No problems with TT6 but just will not work with TT7 on my AximX51v.

Has anyone any ideas please.

I am not too sure it will work with the TTN7 application - certainly some of the newer features won't be available if its anything like the NA units running Navcore 7 or 8 - the HelpMe and MapShare have proven to be very difficult with no answers as yet.

Try creating a menu txt file using NotePad on the PC rather than an online builder tool - Mike

The online menu creator works with TTNv7.910.9185. Only the icons you see on the page are available. Interestingly the rotation icon also works.
Be sure to put the .mnu file in the proper directory.

Mike. Thanks for the quick reply.
Solved the problem after some trial and error.
The SdkRegistry folder has to be placed in TomTom folder in the PDA, not just on the SD card or in the maps folder as the manual states.
Incidentely, this is the menu builder that loads onto the PC, not the online one.

Anyone got another link to the online maker as the above link is not working for me? I have made a .mnu file with the PC based version but I cannot get TT7 to recognise it. It's that long since I did this can someone definately confirm the location of th SdkRegistry folder?

TIA

The SdkRegistry folder goes in the root of the SD card, the TomTom.mnu file goes in the SdkRegistry folder - Mike

Beg to differ. The directory for the .mnu file is, Device/TomTom/sdkregistry

@Satmaniac, The link to the menu builder site works fine.

Ignore me - I was thinking this was for a standalone device not a PDA Embarassed - Mike

Now that's odd as all I get when I try to access it ;-

"Access forbidden!

You don't have permission to access the requested object. It is either read-protected or not readable by the server.

If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster."

Any idea's anyone or has anyone a better menu system than the one supplied by TomTom?

TIA

I don't really think you would appreciate my menu as it is stripped and very basic.

Strange, I use Firefox but I just tried the site with IE and a big Amazon pop-up loads, it could be that you have a blocker restricting access or maybe your firewall?

Click my link on the bottom of this post (then click the My TomTom Page link).

Has a menu you could try to confirm if it will work on your unit. Also tells you how to install it. Plus the bonus of some speed camarea icons I designed.

Neither the HelpMe or MapShare options an be used with a custom menu, this is something users have been trying to get working since version 7 software was first released with the x20 range of devices - so far its proven impossible- Mike

Through much trawling of the internet, I have been able to ascertain that TomTom have not released an SDK for V7 and it would appear that there does not appear to be support for the new functions to be accessed through a custom tomtom.mnu file. Whether the software handles these differently I'm not sure, but I have been unable to find any documented cases where people have been able to access the newer (V7) functions with a custom menu.
