I'm about to do a 3000 mile road trip around the USA and it would be really handy if I could organise my route before I go and have the unit guide me via a route of my choosing.

I'm pretty new to this sat-nav stuff, is this possible?

I suspect your little nuvi can't store routes. In that case, the best you can do is probably to store all of your destinations (and via points) beforehand in your Favourites list. Then you can call up the relevant ones each morning on your tour.
