Tuesday Jan 6th. Sent 2 month old TomTom 720 refurbished back to TomTom, red circle with white cross, would not boot up or connect to computer.
Received repaired (Replaced battery) above item back this morning Sat Jan 10th 2009.

I returned my 720 virtually new as the sprung disc on the rear of the unit, that that puts pressure on the mount, never sprung from when I got it. It got returned to me 2 weeks later, and all they had done was change the application to the original old version and the sprung disc still didn't work. So I phoned to ask why would they change the application software and not repair what was actually wrong with it, and they said they didn't know and I had to return it to them again. So another 2 weeks later it returns, with the spring repaired, and when I turned it on... the red cross!!!!!
I never returned it again, but followed the advice on this site to repair it.

Just one example HERE of how our website cured a very severe instance of that problem in a day. It's nothing to do with the battery being faulty, of course!! Laughing More like improper disconnection from good old TT Home!

Maybe, but mine would not show up as a drive or bring up Home.
