POI and map question (newbie)

I just got my first GPS, the TomTom One for christmas. I love electronics and explore as much as possible, figure it all out myself, but there's a feature/option I'd like to see that I don't know if I'm just over looking. I would like to be able to select one of the displayed POIs on the navigation map (such as while I'm driving, but would only do this at a stop) and get the POI name and info. I've seen I can do this from a separate map in some other options, but the navigation map only displays the POI icons. I don't want the map cluttered with names either though. Am I just wishing for this or did I just look right past it?

I'm afraid selected a POI on the Navigation Map is not an Option.

It can only be done through Browse Map.
