Nokia E71 or E90

Could someone help please as I am a little confused.

At present I use a Mio A701 phone with TomTom Navigator v6. I use the PocketGPS Safety Camera and POI Databases.

In the near future I will be upgrading my mobile phone to a Nokia E71 or E90, which comes with Nokia Maps v2.0 already built in. I have read a number of forums and it appears I will not be able to use my TomTom software with these phones as apparently TomTom will not be able to find the internal GPS.

Does PocketGPS support Nokia Maps v2.0 with their Safety Camera and POI databases?

Yes it does.

1) Download a program called 'Speedcam'...google it... Smile

2) Install it via PC suite...follow the intructions given in the readme.txt within the Speedcam zip file

3) Subscribe to PGPSWorld, and then download data for Speecam...it will be in 'TXT' format...

4) Copy the speedcam location TXT file to the folder (read it in the instructions) on the phone's memory card and rename it according to the instructions...

5) Go outside or to the car, and then boot up 'Speedcam'...it will load all the data and hopefully will lock onto a GPS Signal

6) Drive to a speed camera, and voila...hopefully, the program should alert you...

Thanks Guys, that is good news, but!

My car runs on LPG here in the UK. The POI I am most interested in is LPG garage locations, and I doubt Nokia has that covered. Any ideas?

Hi - I have a E71 and have loaded Speedcam and the camera file available from PocketGPSWorld.
However I have as yet been unable to work out if or how you can load the POI file to Nokia maps.
The only issue I have with Speedcam and the E71 is around the Speedcam file overlaying Nokia Maps - which I have yet been able to do. I can run both programmes at the same time but cannot get the overlay to work.
Some of the Speedcam operations/buttons are different to the instructions but through trial and error you find them - all except for the overlay one!
