|

I have a 520 device with Uk & Ireland maps and will soon be going for a short break to Venice.
I realise that Venice is probably not the best place for SatNav because of the lack of roads but is it possible to get a map of just Venice (using TT plus services?) as there is no point in getting the whole Italian map!
Alternatively I could dig out my PDA with TTN V6 and a very old western europe map but the Go 520 is much more portable and would be very usefule when we get lost.
Can you use the Plus services to the internet through the PC without using a GPRS phone? The answer may be there (possibly). |

The easiest thing to do, is go to the TomTom Mapshop webpage.
Put in your model number and it shows you a list of the maps available.
If it is listed it is available, if it isn't it isn't! (For the Go520 and Venice - it isn't...)
AFAIK, TomTom no longer produce City maps at all.
The only other option would be to try to buy an old one on SD card from somewhere, with all the attendant worries about whether it is a genuine original card, as a copy wouldn't work on a different machine. |

The only way I know of to get a city map is with a PDA based phone that is / was supplied with the TomTom software pre-installed, you got the option to download one free city map of your choice to the device. Assuming the owner of the phone liked the local mapping they would then purchase the full map for their country so in a way this acted like an advert - Mike |

I thought I had seen it somewhere - it all comes back now.
I could be getting the X50V PDA out (not used for a long time!) and crank up TTN 6 - or use paper maps
Thanks for the advice |
