Map Share Statistics

Good morning all.

I connect my TT to PC most days for map share updates etc. and being the saddo that I am I thought I would see how many updates it makes. I connected yesterday and I don't think there were any, connected this morning, and Home said it was going to add a small amount of Mapshare updates that were of size Tiny. The statistics before were 85881 updates had been made and afterwards the value was 91348. So there were nearly 5500 updates, that seems an awful lot of updates in such a short space of time and takes up a "Tiny" amout of disk space.

Does anyone know how these things are formatted, and (obvious question of the day number 1) surely the number of updates will get less and less the newer map you have installed, because they will take the "errors" that were reported from previous releases.

Until TT gives some transparency about the workings of MapShare, the end user will never really know.

Are some of the 'updates', corrections of previous 'updates' that have been previously downloaded?!

As we know, even new maps have errors, so there should be more 'updates' coming through to put these right, as well as 'updates' that are corrections for erroneous 'updates' previously applied.
